About This Play/Drill

This is a secondary break play that was presented by Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall during his presentation at the 2014 NABC Convention in Dallas.

  • Basketball Play - Slip

Frame 1
The ball is reversed from #1 to #4 to #3. Unlike most secondary break plays, #5 will not follow the basketball.
 

Frame 2
When #3 catches, #4 will come to set a ball screen but will slip to the basket. Meanwhile, #5 comes high to the elbow on #3's side and #2 will replace #5.


Frame 3
When #5 comes, he will set a ball screen for #3. From here, #3 can shoot a jump shot if his defender goes under. Otherwise, we want #3 to pass to #1 who spaces to the wing. From here, #1 will look to pass to #4 who comes off of a cross screen set by #2.


Frame 4
If #1 is not open, #3 will look to pass to #2 coming off of a down screen set by #5. If the defense switches, #3 will look to hit #5 on the slip to the basket.
