Sunday afternoon in their game versus the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Playoffs, the LA Lakers ran this Elbow Flex action to get a dunk for Dwight Howard. This elbow set-up into a flex action is very common in the NBA. However, I have rarely (if never) seen the 1 set the backscreen instead of coming off the pin down for a shot or dribble hand-off.
1 (Blake) passed to 4 (Gasol) at the elbow. 1 cut through and set a flex screen for 3. 1 then set a backscreen for 5 (Howard) for the lob.
