UNC uses this play to open up the floor with a handoff/ball-screen combo. Carolina has guards that are capable of splitting the defense if the post defenders jump out too far on the hedge.
1 gives 3 the ball with a dribble handoff.
5 follows behind and sets a ball-screen.
If x5 jumps the screen to hard hedge, 3 can looks to split and drive.
