Basketball Play - Boston Celtics - Iverson Cross

Boston Celtics - Iverson Cross

KJ Smith 05/15/2018

The initial Iverson screen gets the passer open on the wing, while the other guard prepares to set a shuffle screen to the rim. Next a pindown is set for 3 as 1 sprints to the opposite corner to take their defender with them. 3 looks to attack with a spread ball screen if nothing develops. See More

Boston Celtics - Fist STS

KJ Smith 05/15/2018

Quick hitter from the Celtics playbook. A drag screen during the secondary break takes place while a cross screen for the post occurs under the rim. Afterwards the drag screener will pindown for the cross screener to get a shot from 3. It's important for the weak side corner to be filled to prevent help on the down screen. If there isn't a shot, 3 receives a ball screen from 5 to attack with the floor spread. FMS Blog: Boston Celtics - Keeping it Simple with Spread Offense See More

Basketball Play - Golden State Warriors - Drag to Post

Golden State Warriors - Drag to Post

Austin Anderson 05/14/2018

1 throug 4 can bring the ball up for GSW. In this look, the trail big sets the drag and rolls to the post. For the Warriors, this could be Green, Durant, McGee, West, or even Iguodala. If they can't score immediately off the post catch, the strong side wing elbow screens for the perimeter in the top spot. Usually this spot gets occupied by Curry or Thompson. This play was #14 on the most downloaded plays of 2018! Check out the full list and download the playbook: The Top 25 Plays of 2018 The Boston Celtics were down 1 with 8.4 seconds left in overtime when the got the ball stuck in the corner and they had to call a timeout to save the possession. They initially ran a play to get the ball to Jayson Tatum but had to call their final timeout when the 76ers nearly forced a five-second call on the inbounds pass. Down to their final chance, the Celtics ran this play to get Al Horford (5) isolated at the rim. The 76ers were switching all screens to keep the Celtics from getting an open look. This worked to the Celtics advantage as Horford screened for 2, bringing Joel Embid (x5) away from the basket to deny the pass to 2. x2 and x3 had already switched assignments when 3 cut along the baseline. This isolated Horford against Robert Covington (x3) in the post. Covington fronted Horford to deny the pass but with the weak side cleared, Horford sealed his defender to get the lob pass at the rim for the game-winning basket. Philadelphia 76ers - ATO Favorite: This ATO is out of the "EAR TUG" Series. Play is designed to get Simmons to the post to create. "Number-Number" tells you who is involved with the action. "2-5" are involved. 2 flares off 5 (Ear Tug). 5 then rip screens/back screens 1 to the block (post 1). "Bump" refers to the 5 setting a low ball screen for 1. An option out of this play is to have Embiid slip the "BUMP" for a lob look. Click for more 76ers XsOs! See More

Basketball Play - Philadelphia 76ers - PG DHO to Post Up

Philadelphia 76ers - PG DHO to Post Up

Austin Anderson 05/02/2018

This is a misdirection play by the 76ers to post Ben Simmons on the weak side block, which Philly loves to do because of his passing skills and court vision from this area. Embiid/Saric/Ilysova make the entry and then play out of it. Entry passer can cut through or set a flare screen for Covington/Reddick/Belineli. 2-5 are interchangeable spots. The Sixers play call for this is "Platter" which simmons will yell as he holds his hand out palm up. See More
