Favorite Send to FastDrawMississippi State women's basketball took on Baylor in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, for a trip to the Final Four. They used this set late in the game, and in overtime. It resulted in FOUR big baskets, sending them to their first Final Four in program history! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns Set. Off the corner PNR action the screener receives the back screen moving hard into the ball side post on the opposite side for a quick pass and isolation action as the passer cuts away to the weak side taking away the help on the ball side and possible post double. Favorite Send to FastDrawUNC runs the SPNR on the wing looking to come off and attack or hit the post coming off the cross screen in the lane. The cross screen creates traffic, making the defense have to guard multiple actions at once. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWest Virginia used this Princeton type action last night against Gonzaga in their Sweet 16 match-up. Carter runs off the FT line screen into a double stagger looking to catch & shoot off the pass from the TOK. If there's no shot, he has the option to throw inside and the 5 man's down screen or exchange with 3 can also lead to a Hi / Lo off the wing pass to the FT Line area. The play closes with a corner ball screen action when the post has no attack option to the basket and the PG makes the read shooting behind the screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set is one of my favorites of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. There are numerous scoring opportunities, as it is a combination of multiple actions. Xavier ran this set in their Sweet 16 game, against Arizona. The set resulted in a wide open three point attempt. The play gets a ball reversal, has a shuffle cut, double stagger screen, and flows into Floppy action. Great stuff by Coach Mack! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPurdue ran this set, resulting in a three pointer for their All-American player, Caleb Swanigan (5-man). It was a great design by Coach Painter, in their 2017 NCAA Tournament Match-up with Kansas. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSean Miller's Offensive sets are very creative, involve a lot of movement and do a good job changing sides of the floor. This Princeton type Motion Action invovles a lot of screening actions, incorporates two ball screens and forces the Defense to be aware of cutters and movements on the weak side. The opening action off the FT line elbow screen can yield a lob if the defender on the cutter gets hung up on the screen or is late trailing his man. Use also have the back screen Flex type cut for Trier which can get your 3 man a quick post-up or easy lay-up off the ball reversal step out from the 5 man. The play ends with either a SPNR or Step-up screen from the baseline. Well designed, easy to execute, but very hard to defend when utilizing a full shot clock. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a really well tought out set as the ball is entered on the break to the wing and then a quick screen on the trailing post leads to an early SPNR action to the open side. Fitzner can step out to shoot or roll depending on the defense plays it. If the 1st action isn't open, the ball is reversed and the passer sprints-to-screen on the ball, again a Guard-Guard action forcing the defense into a decision. If the PG cannot turn the corner, the 4 steps out to re-screen back to the two man side or the PG can attack down the lane. This is one of my favorite St.Mary's sets from Coach Bennett. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe St. Mary's Gaels do a very good job running their half court sets, with good patience, spacing, and ball movement, they make the defense really pay close attention especially off the ball. This set out of a Horns, is very popular at the European level right now and the first action gives you a chance for a quick hitter off the back door cut. St. Mary's has Jock Landale who can pop or roll out of the SPNR action which makes him a double threat and can open up the driving lanes for the guards too get in the paint and cause rotations, which then leads to kick-outs for their proficient shooting from behind the arc. Favorite Send to FastDrawSouth Carolina does an effective job running the "Nail Play" looking to get Sidarious Thornwell a quick look at an open 3. When the look isn't there, the offense continues with the Big-Big cross screen looking for a quick strike in the Post. The Gamecocks finish the set off with two PNR actions forcing defensive rotation and an open lane for 1 v 1 action from Dozier. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWrap around screen with a second screener "cleaning it up" See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis 1-4 Low set provides a perfect action for the weak side Hammer Screen and 3 pt shot if the Defense collapses off the SPNR action. With Dukes perimeter shooting abilities, the defense must really choose who & how they guard this action. See More
