Having to overcome serious foul trouble all night, the Jayhawks used everything at their disposal to finally eke out the victory. The Minnesota Lynx ran this play with the score tied 73-73 and 35.8 seconds left in game 5 of the WNBA Finals. Once the ball was inbounded, 1 made a UCLA cut into the mid-post area to receive the pass from 2. 3 (Maya Moore) set a back screen for the 4 and then ran off the screen from 5 to get the 3 point shot. This play utlilizes James Harden's (1) ability to draw attention and make reads off of the ball screen. 5 screens away for 4 to make it difficult to for x4 & x5 to help on the ball screens. Having the 5 pop up top to receive inbounds pass gives them a safe outlet since most 5's won't deny the ball that far up the floor. 1 comes off of multiple screens before looking for the inbounder (2) on the flare screen.
