Basketball Play - Dribble Weave

Dribble Weave

Kyle Gilreath 05/31/2013

Trying to head into halftime with much needed momentum in Game 5 of the ECF versus the Miami Heat, Pacers' head coach Frank Vogel drew up this action that worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, David West missed the point blank lay-up. What made this play so successful was that Chris Bosh (guarding West) fell asleep ball watching and didn't see West cut behind his head. Basketball Play - Bulls Box Ball Screen

Bulls Box Ball Screen

Daniel Murphy 05/30/2013

Play shown by Jeff Van Gundy. He got this from Scott Skiles who ran it with the Bulls with Ben Gordan as the 2. Instead of going 1-4 low at the end of quarters the down screen would start at 7 seconds. Depending on the coverage 2 can pull up for a jump shot or drive for a finish at the rim. 2 can drive and kick to 1. 4 and 5 can roll and replace. 5 can pop and 2 can use the throwback pass. 2 can also pass to 4 if 4's defender helps on the drive. Basketball Play - EC Game 1 Winner

EC Game 1 Winner

Jacob Collins 05/29/2013

Incredible set by Coach Spo. Has a great floor spacing lineup with 4 shooters plus LeBron. This action has everyone moving and because of their offesnive game they all have to be guarded. This allows LeBron to get open on the left side lane extended. He then can drive an kick to anyone on the floor but he takes advantage of his spacing to score a layup. Incredible Set. 1-Norris Cole, 2-Ray Allen, LBJ-LeBron James, 4-Shane Battier, 5- Chris Bosh. See More

Basketball Play - Circle Loop

Circle Loop

Randy Brown 05/29/2013

Misdirection play set up by 1 man making entry pass to 2 and cutting through. 2 brings ball to top on the dribble and looks for 1 on left side. Second option is 3-5 screen for 4 curling to catch and score on right side. Give it a try! See More

1 receives staggered flare screens from 2 and 4. First option is skip pass to 1 for open three pointer. Second option is to reverse to 2 and on ball screen by 4. 2 can penetrate and pitch to 1 on left wing. Also, 1 can clear to right corner, leaving the left side open for two-man game between 2 and 4. Give it a try! See More

Basketball Play - NBA Play of the Day May 27: San Antonio Spurs EOG

NBA Play of the Day May 27: San Antonio Spurs EOG

Daniel Murphy 05/27/2013

With the game tied 85-85 and 3.3 seconds left on the clock the Spurs ran this sideline out of bounds play in their 93-89 game 2 OT win over Memphis. Duncan set a great screen to free Manu up, but Leonard was unable to make the pass. Duncan flashed to the ball and shot a contested three but if Leonard hit Manu, Manu would have had great momentum driving to the hoop for the game winner. See More

Basketball Play - Cincy Iso

Cincy Iso

Randy Brown 05/25/2013

This is a quick hitting isolation play for 1. After entry pass to 2, 1 replaces himself and gets ball back. On pass, 2 cuts hard to left corner. This leaves the right side open for isolation for 1 to score. 3 can circle behind to catch if 1 needs to pass back out. Give it a try! See More

Basketball Play - Triangle Late Game

Triangle Late Game

Kyle Gilreath 05/23/2013

This is the play the Miami Heat ran last night to Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Indiana Pacers. The sports world and social media are a buzz about this play mostly because of Hibbert sitting out and George over playing. But let's give credit to Eric Spoelstra. He ran this same exact play at the end of the 4th quarter to get Ray Allen a game winning 3-pointer that came up short. With Hibbert out of the game this play really spread out the floor to open up the driving lane for Lebron to make the game winning lay-up. See More

Basketball Play - Post Rub & Iso

Post Rub & Iso

Randy Brown 05/21/2013

This is a good play for isolating your best post scorer in the low post area. 3 catches from 1 and 1 clears to weak side. On the catch, 4 rubs off 5's screen and cut to high post. This presents two options: 5 seals after screening for 4 OR ball is reversed to high post and 4 hits 5 on a post seal. 1 and 2 occupy defenders on the weak side. Give it a try! See More

Basketball Play - Memphis EOG

Memphis EOG

Daniel Murphy 05/20/2013

With 6.4 seconds left this was the final play of regulation in game 4 win for Memphis. The game was tied at this point and Perkins ended up blocking Randolph's shot to send the game into overtime. Memphis got the isolation from the sideout of bounds situation but was not able to convert it to a basket. See More
