Favorite Send to FastDrawThe ball gets reversed to the wing before a cross screen is set for the point guard to post up. Once the ball is inside, a stagger screen is set on the weak side for a shooter. That shooter however, will curl and screen for the shooting "4" player. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawThe pinch post actions the Aces use are designed specifically to maximize the number of touches Wilson receives, many of which result in isolations for her in the elbow and mid-post areas. She is an absolutely lethal jump shooter from those areas, and is quicker than most of her counterparts which allows her to sweep and get to the rim with ease. After setting a downscreen for a slasher, Wilson finds her spot and receives the entry pass. From there, there is a handoff option, usually rejected in favor of a face up 1 on 1 play. Favorite Send to FastDrawWhen you have a dynamic scorer like Kayla McBride, you MUST find a way to get them the ball where and when they want it. The Aces drink from this well quite often, as they try to get McBride coming off a double stagger on the baseline. She is so adept at using screens and is one of the most explosive players in the world - this quick hitter allows her to get the ball with a quick shot/drive decision and plenty of space to work with. Favorite Send to FastDrawLas Vegas runs a beautiful Horns set which allows plenty of options for their dynamic scorers to get the ball where they want it the most. Early in the season, Vegas ran this and utilized the Flex action well. As teams started scouting, they went to the secondary action which is to reject the initial Flex screen from the cutting passer, and instead use the double stagger. Favorite Send to FastDrawSimple, but effective, this quick hitter is used to get an open high low catch in the post to score. If that is not open, the screener is then isolated against a defender closing fast, creating an immediate shot/drive decision. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Aces pull this rabbit out of the hat to open the quarter and give a completely different look than their base offenses. There are multiple scoring options here including a flare skip, a 1 on 1 at the elbow, or an empty corner drive if the UCLA cut and pass is not there. Favorite Send to FastDrawWith the addition of Marc Gasol's playmaking ability, Nick Nurse has reintroduced the "Elbow" series into the Toronto Raptors playbook in the 2018-19 season. Popularized by Rick Adelman as the Corner Offense, this set allows the Raptors to utilize their versatile personnel, such as Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry, in inteerchangeable roles as passers, cutters, and pick and roll ball handlers. Often times ran at the end of games, this set allows Nick Nurse to involve all of high star players at once. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThroughout Kyle Lowry's tenure with the Toronto Raptors, this baseline out of bounds play has been used as a set-action to get him a 3-pointer in rhythm going to his preferred left. During a mid-seasoon slump in 2018-19, Nick Nurse dialled up "3" BLOB several times over the course of a few games to great success. After toggling from the inbounder and continuing into the continuous staggered screens, Lowry eventually will shoot a catch-and-shoot jumper. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDuring a mid-season slump for Kyle Lowry, Nick Nurse introduced this San Antonio Spurs classic into the Raptors playbook. The former Tony Parker pet play involves sending a guard around a series of baseline screens to carry their momentum into an advantage on the catch. During the 2018-19 season, Toronto opened up a couple of games looking to get Lowry going and did so by running this play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDraw“Thumbs Up” is a quick hitter play run for Toronto’s shooters. Nick Nurse seemingly adapted the general concept of continuous staggered screens from plays run by Dwane Casey in previous years. This one is generally run in a normal half court scenario with the aim being to get Kyle Lowry and Danny Green good catch-and-shoot opportunities. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHammer plays are commonplace across the NBA, and Nick Nurse has several different pet plays that utilize this action. Typically run in after timeout scenarios for their best catch-and-shoot players, this play and formation is out of the “Triangle” and the Toronto Raptors' spacing reflects that. With a big on each elbow, the weak side of the floor forming a triangle with a guard in the deep corner and the other near the hashmark, as well as the ball handler initiating the play from the slot extended.
