About This Play/Drill

This drill is a good drill for getting up a lot of shots and working on scoring moves. This drill can also easily be used in pre-game warm-ups.

  • Start with two lines and four basketballs. The four basketball start in the BALL line (in this example on the left), and the other players start in the PASS line.

1 passes to 6, then cuts toward the top of the key.

6 passes the ball back to 1, who faces up to the basket and then steps with his right foot and attacks the rim.

1 should only use one dribble to get to the basket.

  • 6 rebounds the shot and dribbles out toward the opposite corner. 6 passes to the last man in the BALL line.

1 clears out to the opposite side and fills the PASS line.

In this frame, 2 catches the ball and after squaring up takes a cross-step with his right foot toward the left side of the basket. Again, it should only take one dribble to reach the rim.

  • In this frame, 3 squares up to the basket and takes a big step with his right foot and shoots a shot at the elbow.

  • In this frame, 4 takes a cross step with his right foot toward the left elbow and shoots a shot.

  • For the last move, 5 shoots a shot at the top of the key.
