About This Play/Drill

In today’s diagram and embedded video we look at a warmup drill. This is a drill to use right after stretching to get players moving and get them a feel for the basketball. It starts out easy, but gets fairly challenging once two balls are incorportated.

  • Basketball Play - Partner Passing Drill

Organization: Players get a partner and line up on the baseline across from each other with 10-12 feet of space. Each group of partners has one ball.

 

Description: Players turn their shoulders and SPRINT, passing and catching at a high rate of speed. Go up and back:

-Chest Pass

-Right Hand

-Left Hand

-2 Ball (one chest, one bounce)

 

POPs:

-Turn shoulders and SPRINT

-Catch with two hands

-Perfect passes
