About This Play/Drill

Drake ran this play late in the first half to get their best driver, Joseph Yesufu, an opportunity to attack the paint. 5 makes a decoy action by faking the screen and running back to the baseline on the weakside. This puts him in position for a potential pass for a layup on the drive or an offensive rebound. When 4 sets a ghost screen for 1 this clears the lane for 1 to drive to the basket. It also can give a moment of hesitation for the defense because they don't know if a real screen will happen and they need to provide help or switch on it.
