About This Play/Drill

This is a great set for multiple looks. Obviously it is defended well but you can see the scoring opportunities very easily.

My critique of this video is the pace with which Marquette runs it. I'd love to see 2 already sprinting as 3 pops for the catch. I also would like 4 and 5 to shape up after the screen as the switching left a mismatch somewhere. You could even have 4 and 5 cross screen to enhance this set.

  • 2 will cut first hard to the corner. 5 must post in order to require a front from his defender opening up the lob to 4.
3 will cut right off of 2's heels and back screen 4's man for the lob look
  • 3 then will pop and recieve the entry pass
  • 2 will then use 4, and 5's baseline stagger screens for a potential corner/wing 3
4 and 5 must shape up to the ball after 2 clears them as switching will likely leave one of them open for a quick entry pass
This is also a really great iso opportunity for 3 as all defenders are occupied in the baseline action
