  • TRAP the ball screen with X5 going green (green = trap)

     

    X4 rotates to left block

    X3 gets inside and deeper than 4

    X2 guards NAIL while anticipating pass to 2

  • The forms the HELPSIDE TRIANGLE

  • Near Man Rotation

    On any pass out of the trap, the helpside triangle follows the Near Man Rule - nearest man to the catch takes that player and then match out according to near man rule.

     

    1 passes to 2. X2 may deny or gamble on this pass if there is tight trap and the pass has air under it.

     

    X2 goes to 2 since he/she is the nearest player to 2

    X3 rotates to 3 on the extra pass. He/she is the nearest man.

    x4 rotates over to 4

    X5 sprint releases and finds the open man

    x1 jumps to deny

  • Standard Positioning

    Defense has returned to neutral in standard positioning
