About This Play/Drill

This is a quick and simple passing drill that posts can use to work on their hands. Tennis balls, heavy balls, big balls or regular balls can all be used to keep the drill interesting.

  • Basketball Play - Post One-Hand Passing

Each coach has a ball at the elbow area. Post player's back is to the rim on the rim line.

Post player is in a defensive stance, keeping feet moving.

Coach 1 throws pass to post players near hand (Post's right hand). Player catches the ball with one hand and throws it back to coach, keeping ball above shoulders.

Then, Coach 2 throws pass to post players near hand (Post's left hand). Player catches the ball with one hand and throws it back to coach, keeping ball above shoulders.

**Coaches move back to make the pass back from post tougher.

**Coaches can also throw to far hand to also make the drill tougher.
