About This Play/Drill

Late in a close game, Northwestern used "False Motion" into a roll and rise ball screen. False Motion is a great way to manipulate the help defense. Northwestern scored on this possession, en route to a tournament win over Vanderbilt.

  • 2 dribble hand off to 4

    1 cuts towards corner

  • 2 cuts to the opposite wing

    4 dribble hand off to 1

    5 cuts to high post

  • 5 sets a race out ball screen and rolls to the block.

    4 "bounces off the baseline" to lift behind the roll.

    1 passes to 5 inside.
